Our second print is based on the film poster we made for The Thin Red Line (Terrence Malick, 1998) as part of our passion project Double Bill Posters. This design was one of two in our double bill of the genre anti-war (see Double Bill Posters 2020).

In order to convey the poetic and transcendental experience of The Thin Red Line, we incorporated a significant fragment from one of the voice-overs. This, in combination with the still, symbolizes man’s fragile relationship with nature and questions our existence.

Tall grass is a frequent feature in the film and therefore we chose to print this design on  paper made from grass clippings (residual waste from grasslands managed by Natuurpunt, an independent Flemish organization responsible for protecting vulnerable and endangered nature). The paper has visible specks and grains, making each print unique. Printed sustainably in offset CMYK by zwartopwit

Designed and produced in Belgium with love for our environment.

This print is shipped unframed and flat in a robust cardboard envelope.

You can also buy this print in a frame. We chose an aluminium frame topped with oak veneer to go with the natural look and feel of the print. This frame has a slighty deeper edge for a more dynamic look. We also offer two other options: a white aluminium frame (see here), or an black aluminium frame (see here). Framed prints are only available as local pick-up (2018 Antwerp or 2600 Berchem) or bike delivery within 10km distance of the centre of Antwerp.

Our frames are made to order so please note that delivery times are subject to availability.
